THE D+G 2020 • Online • August 21-23
Programming Descriptions
- Autism and Kink - Andy: Let’s talk to some actually autistic adults about some helpful ways to approach bdsm and kink with autistic partners, and even some ways to accommodate being autistic in the bdsm world!
- BIPOCK mixer - Catwing: A space for Black / Indigenous / other kinky people of color to get together and connect
- Breaking the DNGNE Zoom Ice! - Polyphonist: Let's kick off the first ever virtual Dungeons & Geekdoms with a little fun and a dash of guided interaction for meeting and getting to know people (or seeing old friends and play partners)! Join Polyphonist as ze helps to welcome everyone to this virtual event with some Zoom specific icebreakers and just generally low key conversation and comradery. Come dressed as your favorite character from your favorite geekdom (onesies are totally welcome!) and/or in your favorite event attire and let's make some new friends and give loving greetings to our old friends and share some space together. Snacks are recommended but not required!
- Bringing Your Impossible Fantasy to IRL - alvonina: There's always that one scene in a favorite anime, graphic novel, movie or book that we all know is literally impossible to recreate in a real life context but man is it soooo hot! Join me as we discuss ways of toying with all the senses to create a roleplaying kinky experience that will certainly be a fun mix of mind fuckery and sensation play.
- D&G Geeky Karaoke - KittenCuriosity: What would D&G be without singing? Since the pandemic Kitten Curiosity has been hosting virtual karaoke for several cons. We will have a brief introduction at the beginning, then we ask everyone to turn off their video unless they wish to have it on while singing, order to increase bandwidth and reduce lag. Please see the Google Doc for logistics details and to request songs. Please feel free to reach out to KittenCuriosity via Fet, email ([email protected], or Discord (KittenCuriosty#2135) with any questions.
- Fantastic Fire Cupping - Madame Tak: Nothing compares to the relaxing heat of fire play. From sensual to sadistic, fire play and cupping has existed throughout the centuries. Learn how to safely let the flames lick the skin and leave those iconic cupping marks.
- Geeky Pub Trivia - GMBeowulf: Are you the smartest geek in the room? Prove it in a test of your knowledge of comic books, cartoons, role-playing games and fantasy/sci TV. Form a team or compete by yourself. Winner gets bragging rights and a genuine no-prize.
- Hit it! - Drumming fundamentals for BDSM - overthinkitall: Drumming encompasses a wide range of tools and techniques for hitting things, and yet it rarely intersects with kink. Let's fix that! No drumming experience is required, but having a pair of sticks* will help you get the most out of the class. Topics covered will include different stick types, how to hold and strike with drumsticks, fundamental drumming patterns, and how to incorporate it all to make scenes that can be anything from sensual to intensely challenging. * if you buy sticks, I recommend starting with "multi rod" style sticks for kink
- Kinky, or Just "Edgy"? Naughty Tabletop RPG Books - GMBeowulf: From D&D's Book of Erotic Fantasy to one-on-one "romance" games to (gestures generally) the output of White Wolf publishing, RPG designers have found places for kinky content in their games. How much was the designer's fetish, and how much was an attempt to be a teenage edgelord? Let's discuss!
- Kinky Science Theater 3000 Episode VII: The Bots Awaken - MrStriker: After a three year absence, Kinky Science Theater returns, although in virtual form. Expect the same low budget laughs as we suffer through some kind of sci-fi soft-core celluloid disaster. (This programming item is pre-recorded and will be provided as a link for you to enjoy whenever you'd like to over the weekend.)
- Level Up Your Kit - Madame Tak: Are you starting out or maybe finding you're less than thrilled with your kit? Find out how to maximize your toy bag for each type of play! Bring your kit for extra credit and suggestions on how to level up your bag of holding!
- Nerdy, dirty and downright silly: Pervertables for all - Willow: You’ll never look at everyday objects the same again! This class is designed to get your kinky creative juices flowing as we examine a variety of different types of pervertables. From things that thud to things that sting, we will discuss how everyday objects from nature, your household or local hardware store can be perverted and turned into affordable, one of a kind toys for hilarious or terrifying scenes. Or both! Uses for pervertables are as broad as your imagination. This class is one part discussion and one part show and tell. Single and partnered folx are welcome and there is no skill prerequisite.
- Never Ever Have I Ever (Poly Edition) - Spencer Holloway: Bring your tea, bring your gin in a teacup, whatever you are most comfortable with for a fun poly version of Never Ever Have I Ever and get to know your poly con mates!
- Non-Verbal Communication - Madame Tak: If you're doing it right, dungeons are loud. Sometimes a cat has your tongue. Not everyone can verbally convey their needs once a scene starts! Using some helpful nonverbal communication, many issues can be mitigated and you can strengthen your scenes. Join Madame Tak and her Darling Boy as they explore the importance of nonverbal communication in and out of a dungeon.
- Owning your yes, embracing your no. Healthy Communication Workshop - Catwing: In kink, and in life, it is important that we're able to communicate our wants and desires clearly. In this workshop, we will explore different styles of communication, discuss challenges, brainstorm solutions, and role play scenarios to build our healthy communication muscles.
- Prep Work: Building an Aftercare Kit - Emma_Spanko: Good aftercare is powerful and everyone involved in your kink scene should feel safe and cared for after playtime is over. You can take an already wonderful experience to the next level when you learn to recognize what your needs are post-scene and prepare for them. This class takes a look at preparing for, negotiating, and building an aftercare kit so that aftercare is never an afterthought.
- Queer Stitch and Bitch - Spencer Holloway: All genders, all stripes of queer folx are welcome to join us with your current craft project and get to know each other!
- Rope 101 (Virtual Edition) - Andrew: This class will introduce the basics of rope bondage: we'll begin with a brief discussion of safety and types of rope and then continue into hands-on demonstrations of several ties and techniques that form the foundation of functional rope bondage. We'll cover introductory harnesses and ties. We'll be using several techniques to make these easy to see at home including supplemental illustrations and multiple camera angles to make sure you can see everything and follow along, and we'll be able to give individual help as needed over video chat. [Quarantined with someone?] Awesome - we think you will enjoy this class! [Home alone?] We've ensured that most of the ties we're going to show are things that you can tie on yourself. [Don't have rope?] There are a bunch of awesome places you can buy rope online, the handout lists a few.
- Rope Basics: The kinky Trifecta - Willow: Curious about rope bondage but worried about safety? Want to know how discuss rope scenes with another person? Interested in knowing what ties can give you the most mileage as a beginner? Want to know what all that ropey jargon means? This class is for you! This class is designed for those interested in learning rope basics, dusting off their skills, or practicing new ways to do old tricks. This introductory level class will cover the kinky trifecta of rope basics: 1. Safety; 2. Negotiation and 3. Knots and ties.
- Rope Bottoming for Beginners - Lilah Rose: Despite how passive a rope bottom may seem during a scene there is actually a lot of skill and effort that goes into making a fun, safe rope scene, from the bottom side! This class assumes little to no rope bottoming experience and in addition to practical skills we will talk about different rope styles, goals, and personal motivations to get the most out of a scene. This class will prepare you for rope-specific negotiation, communication, and body awareness, as well as some tips on how to get started, find tops, and access other resources as a rope bottom.
- Serenity Space Hangout - Emma_Spanko: With an emphasis on chill, take some time out of your busy Dungeons and Geekdoms online experience to unwind in Serenity Space. Stop by and wish Emma_Spanko a happy birthday or play some kinky trivia. This is an unstructured hang out so pour a drink and let’s see what happens.
- Service Round Table - Spencer Holloway: An interactive discussion based place to discuss service based issues, tips and tricks and service based experiences from all sides of the D/s spectrum.
- The Best and Worst of RPGMaker and Visual Novel Hentai - GMBeowulf: A slideshow and discussion of a number of fan- and professionally-made RPGMaker games and Visual Novels of a pornographic nature. The merits and qualities of the various games will be discussed and examples shown.
- The Joy of Painting...Naked People (Bodypainting as Sensation Play) - UntamedPen: Your favorite Bob Ross impersonator, UntamedPen, is back, ready to show you how to paint happy little trees all over happy naked people! Bodypainting by itself is beautiful and a challenging art. But it can also be used as a form of sensation play. Because it combines so well with so many other kinks, it can be a platform to bring variety, creativity, and beauty to your scenes. UntamedPen will teach you the basics of what you need and the various techniques to paint a reasonable copy of Bob Ross's landscape style, all while doing his unnervingly accurate impression. Plus, since this is online, you can paint along at home!!
- Topping from A Bottom - Doubtful: This class is for every top who has looked at a bottom and wondered what was going on in their head. All of the decision making involved in topping can be intimidating - come learn from an experienced bottom about what the other side’s experiences are like, to help you feel more confident in making those choices.
- Using Distance & Covert Power Exchange - Sir Vice: Like most interpersonal things, Power Exchange is about connection. Whether living apart, part-time, or having to hide your dynamic from family & friends, it's not easy feeling connected and keeping the roles alive. This has never been truer than in the last 4+ months. We will review ways to express and connect in your D/s and M/s dynamic; be that across distance, time, or the expectations of those which may not be as understanding as you would otherwise hope.
- Using improv principles for better consent, negotiation and relationship discussions - Masterfultouch: With the alteration of our lives, we need to adjust the way we relate to our situations and our relationships. Improv skills help us stay connected, creative empathic and flexible. They also add some fun to our lives... in person and online.
- We're (not) All Mad Here; Coping Skills: For Life, Kink, and Quarantine - Lilah Rose: 2020 has been, as they say, 'a hot mess'. Whether it is learning to adapt to being stuck at home, being separated from (or stuck with!) loved ones, missing out on the events that bring us joy, or 'just' living under the shadow of illness and social conflict, we're all dealing with heightened stress this year. More normal times tend not to be real easy either, most of us deal with intense stressors of some kind, normal ones and the special ones that come with being kinky fuckers. In this class you will learn and have a chance to practice skills and techniques to keep mind, body, and emotions healthy wherever you may find yourself. Participation encouraged (but not required).
